Day 1: Arrival
Allison,
I have arrived at the Sea View base. My flight was delayed in Florida due to the storm so they have had to push the launch back by a day. When we finally got out here I was confused at first, I thought it was an oil rig at first. Boy was I wrong. Mr. Jewett met my chopper at the landing pad and gave me a tour of the whole place. He seems very friendly, but you know I never fully trust someone with that much money.
The base is huge. With a large section of underwater labs. Before being shown my quarters I was shown the submarines. They look even cooler in person! I selected the Ghost. It’s a purple-colored sub, shaped like a giant manta ray! I wish you could see this place.
As Mr. Jewett showed me around and I got my gear, I met the whole crew of the base. They’ll be working with me while I’m here and I’ll be helping them learn more about the mysterious depths...

Log
Hello,
My name is Nester Brannon. This journal is meant to serve as a record of all events and findings aboard The Whale. I submerged from the Research Base this morning at 10:27 am. I was meant to leave at dawn, but it was admittedly a hectic send-off. I am not quite sure how I managed to start this journey in one piece. The Expedition Coordinator, Azrael, was on top of the Whale when I arrived. He was shouting about how excited he was for the journey. The cartographer, Kaldun, was shouting equally as loud about how he should get down and act professionally. The chef, Sara, managed to bribe him down with the promise of lunch and I watched in horror as Azrael slid and fell off of the vessel.
Josh, the Safety officer, arrived as he fell stating that Robin needed to label the building better. He evidently made three wrong turns trying to find his way to the dock. Robin surprisingly seemed unfazed by all of the shouting and told him she would renumber it, again. It sounded as though this happens quite often. It was all very loud as I hesitantly made my way to the ship. Frank, the mechanic, was hammering away at the hull and shouting up to Darnosh, his assistant. Azrael was yelling on the ground after falling, which caused Kaldun to scold him for being on the ship in the first place. The doctor, Copper, was running down the stairs saying, “Oh, no” over and over again. With all of the noise, I was surprised that I was able to have a cohesive conversation with the communication assistants...

I had a blast with my play through, I didn't have a lot of time so I picked the ghost since it has the least amount of O2. It was a fun and creative way to help me out of my recent writing slump.
